An officer involved shooting claimed the life of a suspect in LaRue this (Tuesday) morning.

According to a release from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Marion County Special Response Team executed a search warant at the home of a suspected methamphetamine dealer.

When officers and deputies arrived, the suspect fled his house on foot and walked to the nearby railroad tracks.

Officers returned fire and hit the suspect.

They rendered first aid at the scene, but the suspect later died after being transported to the hospital.

Special Response Team members were wearing their body cameras, and the footage will be turned over to Bureau of Criminal Investigation, which is in charge of the investigation.
