NWS Tracking Winter Storm

Written by on December 20, 2022

A wintry blast could help ensure a white Christmas for the area.

There is a chance for accumulating snow Friday through Friday night.

Strong winds are also expected Friday into Saturday with gusts of 40 to over 50 miles an hour possible.

The National Weather Service pointed out that even minor amounts of snow, combined with the gusty winds, may lead to blowing snow and reduced visibility, causing impacts to holiday travel.

The combination of very cold temperatures and strong wind will likely produce dangerously cold wind chills Friday and Saturday, lingering into Christmas Day on Sunday for parts of the area.

Wind chills well below zero are expected at times during this period.
