Cross Announces Discussion with ODOT that Could Lead to Better Truck Traffic Flow in Kenton

At the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Hardin County Republican Party new headquarters on Monday, State Representative Cross announced that he recently had a good conversation with officials from the Ohio Department of Transportation that could someday lead to better truck traffic flow in downtown Kenton, “They’ve informed me and they’re going to inform the City of Kenton that they’re going to look at studying the potential bridge cross-over from Route 31 to 68 as a potential to alleviate truck traffic and turning downtown, making it a safer option for everybody. So I was pleased to hear that. Once again, this is just a good example of having local leadership like the Mayor of Kenton, myself, Senator McColley and others working with friends at ODOT to solve a problem and we’re trying to find the best solutions. Will this be the solution? We don’t know. We’re going to look at, study it and if it is, we’ll try to go get the right kind of funding to help that, but the good news is trucks are on the road. That means commerce is moving. The economy is still strong. I don’t think people will complain to have a strong economy and trucks moving. Let’s just get them moving in the right way.”
