Kenton School Superintendent Presents Artist Rendering Slides of Inside New Building

Written by on February 14, 2023

The Kenton City Schools Board of Education conducted its February meeting Monday evening.

Superintendent Chad Thrush presented some artist rendering photos of the inside design for the new Middle and High school building.

He stated that representatives from the architect firm Garmann-Miller will be at the March meeting to present a more detailed description, including more inside features as well as the design look for the outside of the building.

The Board then took care of several personnel items on the agenda.

An agreement between Kenton City Schools and OhioHealth for high school and technical school programs.

The agreement allows for student interns to be at the hospital.

Superintendent Thrush said he is happy for the restart of the partnership, “We thank OhioHealth for being willing. Obviously when we hit COVID that kind of put an end to them taking any interns and that kind of thing, but they’re now being willing to partner with us, and a lot of times hospitals won’t do that because unless they’re 18, they’re just not willing to take on risks and things, but ours is, so we definitely appreciate OhioHealth being willing to take our kids.”

The Board then went into executive session for the purpose of preparing for collective bargaining negotiations. No action was taken after the session.

The next regular meeting will be held on March 20.
