The Celina Bulldogs defeated the Kenton Wildcats 27-7 in Western Buckeye League football play Friday at Robinson Field.

The Wildcats (1-3 overall, 1-2 WBL) turned the ball over on three straight possessions to end the first half. The first thwarted a Kenton drive into Bulldog territory, while the second was converted into a 10-play Celina touchdown drive that broke a scoreless tie with 1:20 left in the second quarter. The third turnover was an interception that was returned for a touchdown in the closing moments of the half and put Celina (2-2, 2-1) on top by a 13-0 count at intermission.

The Bulldogs then scored touchdowns on their first two possessions of the second half to build a 27-0 lead. Kenton fought back, finding paydirt on a 34-yard touchdown pass from Korbin Johnston to Tyson Lawrence but could not get over the hump.

Colby Howard was named the Ace Hardware Player of the Game.

The Wildcats are back in action on Friday when they travel to Fred J. Brown Stadium in Defiance to meet the Bulldogs. WKTN will carry the game live, with the pregame show starting at 6:45 p.m. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
