Shawnee Holds Off Kenton in Boys Soccer Action

In what has become quite the rivalry that last 4 years another great game was played between Kenton and Shawnee Monday.

Unfortunately for Kenton #7 state ranked Shawnee prevailed 3-1.

A hard fought and entertaining contest between the schools was tied at 0 going into halftime.

Shawnee broke through first 3 minutes into the 2nd half. Shawnee struck again 12 minutes later to take a 2-0 lead in the contest. The Cats got on the board with 18 minutes left in the contest when Reed Cook took a corner that found the head of Patrick Bartlett that the keeper saved and Hunter LaRue cleaned up the trash. Shawnee would score one last goal in the final ten minutes for the 3-1 scoreline. Shawnee outshot Kenton in the contest 8-6 with Brent Rader making 5 saves on the night.

The JV Cats fell to Shawnee tonight 1-0. The Cats fall to 9-4 (4-2 WBL).

Both teams are back in action on Thursday when Ottawa Glandorf comes to town for senior night.
