Obituary for Sharon Kay Fields

            Sharon Kay Fields, age 81, of Ada, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Blanchard Place, Kenton.

            Sharon was born on October 28, 1941, in Kenton, Ohio to Carl and Freda (Kaeck) Mabrey.  Her father preceded her in death.  Her mother and step-father, Jim Glock, also preceded her in death.  She was previously married to Glenn Fields, who preceded her in death.    

            Sharon is survived by her three children: Jon (Susan) Fields of Athens, Blythe (Stephen) Cox Hartland, WI, and Brian (Valorie) Fields of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; three sisters: Charlene Hilty of Kenton, Judy (Vic) Von Blon of St. Marys, and Pam (Ken) Hanes, Sarasota, FL; a special friend, Tom Stout; and many nieces and nephews. 

            She was preceded in death by a grandson, Cole Waldron; a brother, Gary Mabrey; and a sister, Kathy Williams.

            Sharon retired from Ohio Northern University, Ada after working for thirty-seven years as a secretary for the Music and Industrial Arts Departments.  She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Ada.  She was a member of the former Quatre Club of Ada, a volunteer for the Ada Red Cross swimming lessons.  Sharon loved all types of music and attended numerous performances at ONU.   

            A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Ada, 300 East Highland Avenue, Ada, Ohio with Deacon Michael Hood officiating.  Burial will be held in Grove Cemetery, Kenton.

            Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
