Obituary for Sandra J Preston

Sandra J Preston, age 85 of Upper Sandusky, passed away with her daughter by her side January 5th, 2023 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. She was born October 8th , 1937 in Upper Sandusky to Eugene W. “Ike” Corbin and Neva Jean (Neate) Corbin.

Sandra is survived by her son: Mike (Deb) Preston of Cypress, TX, daughter Kim (Tony) Rohrs of Malinta, Ohio, granddaughters: Halle Rohrs, Sydney Rohrs, sister Deborah (Robert) Raico, Mentor, OH, sister-in-law: Barbara Corbin, Tiffin, OH, nephew Mark (Leah) Raico. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother: Frederick E. “Buzz” Corbin, nephew Brian Raico, niece Brianna Raico, cousin Franklin (Joyce) Kuenzli.

Sandra graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1955. After attending Columbus Business School, she started working as a secretary at the Gas Company. After that she attended Radiology School in Sandusky, Ohio where she became an X-Ray Technician. Upon graduating she worked at Wyandot Memorial Hospital for 23 years and then for Dr. Dorsey Gilliam in Marion, OH for 17 ½ years until she retired.

Sandra was a member and officer of the Elks Emblem Club and after retiring she was a dedicated volunteer at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in the Materials Department for 13 Years and Fairhaven as needed. She had a passion for crocheting and made Afghans of all sizes, scarves, dollies and more to take to Wyandot County Farmers’ Market for about 20 years. She loved spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, crosswords, word finds and puzzles.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday Jan. 10, 2023 at 12pm at Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Steve Sturgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday Jan. 10, 2023 from 10am – 11:45am, with an Elk’s Emblem Club memorial service will begin at 11:45am.
