Wyandot County Man Receiving Threatening Text Messages

A Wyandot County man reported that he has been receiving threatening text messages.
According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, the man told deputies on Sunday that the text messages stated that someone’s been hired to kill him unless he wires a sum of $80,000 to a specific bank account.
The messages contained the victim’s address and said that he is being watched.
The phone number originates out of northern Virginia or Columbia.
It was determined that that incident is a scam, and the victim was told to block the number and contact authorities if anything suspicious happens on his property.
