Wallace to Lead Ridgemont Board of Education in 2023

Written by on January 13, 2023

The Ridgemont School’s Board of Education held its reorganizational meeting Thursday evening.

Paige Wallace was elected President and Matt Jennings was elected Vice-President for this year.

The Board then voted to change meeting days and times for this year.

Meetings have been held on Thursday, but will now be on the second Wednesday of each month.

They will also start at 7:30 in the evening instead of 4:30.

Members explained that usually, there are less school sports and activities on Wednesdays, and by moving the meeting later in the day, it should make it easier for parents and community members to be able to attend.

At the regular meeting that followed, the Board approved an agreement with the Hardin County Emergency Management Agency that would share the resources of the Ridgemont Local Schools with EMA in the event of a county emergency.

Those resources include the use of the school’s vehicles, including buses, for the purpose of needed transportation in the event of an emergency.
