The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of motor vehicles that were taken from locations in the Western part of the county and occurring over the past 4 days.

A suspect in the thefts was taken into custody late Tuesday morning.

According to a report from the Kenton Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of North High Street in reference to a report of a stolen vehicle.

Upon their arrival, there was a short pursuit and the vehicle crashed at High and Eliza Streets.

The suspect was taken into custody and turned over to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office for charges.

42 year old Joshua LeMaster is currently being held on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The investigation is continuing.

As always, vehicle owners are encouraged to remove items of value from their vehicles, remove the keys, and lock the doors, so as to discourage would-be thieves.

Also, be aware of and report any suspicious persons and/or activity occurring on or around your or your neighbor’s property by calling your local law enforcement agency.
