Suspect in Attempted Child Abduction Case in Marion Arrested

An arrest has been made in an attempted child abduction incident late Monday morning at Walmart in Marion.

According to a release from Marion County Sheriff Matt Bayles, a suspect allegedly attempted to get an 11 year old boy to leave the store with him.

It was reported that the suspect asked the boy to show him where the exit was and started to walk away with him before the boy’s mother yelled at the suspect, who then left the area.

By late Monday night, tips from the public and through an investigation, the suspect was identified and arrested.

26 year old Jonah G. Kigge, of Mansfield, was transported to the Multi County Jail on a charge of criminal child enticement.

He is currently on probation out of Marion Municipal Court.

Sheriff Bayles thanked the public for the tips that he said, “Led to the arrest of a dangerous person who may also suffer from mental illness.”
