Rotary Holds Final Meeting of Year

The final Kenton Rotary meeting of 2022 was held on December 14th.

An “auction” was held during the previous meeting and those proceeds, $1500, were distributed to Sue Alger from Love in the Name of Christ of Hardin County (Love INC).
Sue shared with Rotary how Love INC operates. Love INC is a cooperative effort between churches, organizations, service agencies and individuals to provide effective help for those in need. Love INC operates as a clearinghouse. Requests for assistance are received by phone, usually from individuals, churches, or service agencies.
Occasional walk-in clients are also serviced. Requests are screened and verified to determine the extent of the need. Persons requesting assistance are referred to the most appropriate source of help. Financial assistance is not given directly to clients, rather utility bills and rent are paid directly to providers once the need is verified and funds are available. 2/3 to ¾ of request are able to be filled.

Some other resources offered are an emergency food pantry, resources for clothing, cleaning supplies, personal care items and the newest addition, a toy store, where gently used toys are provided, one per child, and other toys are available for $1 each.

Love INC is housed in the New Hope Ministry Park at 13671 W. Pattison Ave. in Kenton.
