Obituary for Ronald D. Wallace

Written by on March 23, 2022

Retired Columbus police officer Ronald D. Wallace loved life until the end. Ron passed out of this life peacefully at his home on Friday, March 18 at the age of 89 after a brief battle with cancer.  Ron served as a Columbus police officer for 29 years, retiring to enjoy a life of fishing, grandkids, and time with his loving wife Rosemary. They enjoyed time between Florida and Ohio for many years, travelling between their home on the lake and their land in the hills. Recently they focused their time in Ohio and enjoyed family and gardening. Just over a year ago, Rosemary passed away and Ron has been spending his time with his growing family in Northern Ohio. His love for life, family and the outdoors was always a joy to experience. His wonderful smile, full laugh, and love for a good game of euchre were things everyone enjoyed…..unless you were playing against him.  Ron is preceded by his loving wife, Rosemary; survived by his four children, Janet (Jim) Sylvester; Cyndie (Douglas) Nicola; Michael (Denise) Wallace; and Lori (Dawn) Wallace, as well as 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.  A special viewing for family and friends is planned for Friday, March 25, 2022, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Schindewolf, Stout and Crates Funeral Home in Kenton, Ohio. On Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM a funeral service will be held, also at the Schindewolf, Stout and Crates Funeral Home.  Online condolences can be expressed to the family by visiting stourcrates.com.
