A Celebration of life service for John W. Anderson will be held at a later date. It was his wishes to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
He died on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his residence. He was born on June 15, 1945 in Portland, Oregon to the late Donald J and Ida Agnus (Beck) Anderson. on July 24, 1970 he married Rosalind “Roz” Baker who survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are 2 sons; Ryan Anderson of Kenton and Reagan Anderson of Columbus. 1 sister; Mary Lu Kobs of Portland, OR, 1 sister-in-law; Linda Anderson of Portland, OR, 3 Grandchildren; Chloe, Lukas and Issac. Nieces and nephews; Danielle Nepper of Denver, CO, Jeffery Knapp of Vancouver, WA and Chris Anderson of Portland, OR.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother; Jerry Anderson and 1 nephew; Mark Anderson.
John graduated From Roosevelt H.S. in Portland, Oregon in 1963. He then attended Portland State University for 2 years.
He served in the Airforce Reserves during Vietnam.
John was the Owner and President of Baartol Company from 1973 to 2014 when he retired.
He was an outdoorsman, that enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also was always very interested in aviation, even taking flying lessons and going to the Airforce Museum and Military shows.
Johns true passion was spending time his family, especially his grandchildren or traveling with his wife. They drove all over the place but loved to vacation in Maine.
