A funeral service for Douglas “Doug” P. Frederick will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Burial will follow at Dunkirk Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the funeral home.

Doug passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023 at his residence. He was born on September 21, 1950 in Hudson, Michigan to the late Robert and Mary (Spar) Frederick. On April 11, 1969 he married Susan Longbrake and she survives.

Also surviving are his children; Mark Frederick, Krista (Tim) Roby, a brother; Randy Frederick, his grandchildren; Austin (Carlie) Roby, Brett Roby, Mason (Sydney) Roby, great-grandchildren; Luke Roby, Carson Roby, and Saylor Roby.

He was preceded in death by a sister; Rebecca Frederick.

Doug was a 1968 graduate of Hardin Northern High School. He was a proud United States Marine Veteran. Doug was an active member of the Bridgeport Church and volunteered for the Hardin Northern Food Pantry.

Doug retired from Rockwell/Meritor after 32 years of service and farmed most of his life.

His joy in life came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed going to Lake Erie with his family to fish and camp.

Memorial donations in Doug’s honor may be made to the Bridgeport Church.
