Obituary for Carol Jean Schreiber

Carol Jean Schreiber, 83 passed away peacefully on March 7, 2023 at Blanchard Place in Kenton with her family by her side. Carol Jean was born in Kenton on September 25, 1939 to William and Ruah Young. She married Dean Handly and they were later divorced. She then married Ernest A. Schreiber III and they resided in Orient, Ohio until his death in 2021. Carol Jean was preceded in death by two siblings; Joseph Young (9 months old) and Jane Young (4 years old) and her sons; Joe Handly and Jeff Handly. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Handly-Parthemore of Kenton, son, Ernest Anthony “Tony” Schreiber of Columbus and a granddaughter, Lindsay (Kyle) Talbott of Columbus.
Carol Jean graduated in 1957 from Kenton High School and then began her family. She was a representative for Avon for many years and worked various places in Kenton before moving to Orient, Finally retiring from The Ohio Department of Taxation.
Carol Jean loved journaling her daily life, going to yard sales, scrap booking, decorating and creating keepsakes in ceramics for family and friends, traveling with family and friends and celebrating holidays. She will be remembered for her friendly personality and caring ways.
A funeral service for Carol Jean will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM Saturday until the time of service. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Carol Jean to the Alzheimer’s Association.
