Obituary for Carol A. Stephan

Carol A. Stephan age 72 of Wharton, died Mar. 13, 2023 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born in Kenton on Feb. 17, 1951 to the late Stanley G. and Lillian L. (Wilson) Spath.
She married Don A. “Doc” Stephan on May 18, 1974, he survives in Wharton. Carol is also survived by a son Gene Stephan, Wharton, grandchildren Lilly & Ottalee Stephan, step grandchild Oliver Toland, a brother Rodney Spath, FL, sisters Diane (Robert) Forney, Forest and Pamela Spath Gaertner, Cincinnati. She is preceded in death by a son Alan “AT” Stephan.
Carol had worked for the Wyandot County Health Department for 25 years and then was a substitute teacher and was a reading mentor at Riverdale. She enjoyed scrap booking.
A funeral service will be held Sat. Mar. 18, 2023 at 10:30AM in the Clark Shields Funeral Home with Harry Launder officiating. Interment will follow in Wharton Richland Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-7:00PM Fri. Mar. 17, 2023 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Riverdale Athletic Boosters or to Don Stephan for Carol’s grandchildren Lilly, Ottalee and Oliver’s college fund in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S.
