Obituary for Betty L. Romich

Betty L. Romich, age 92 of Upper Sandusky, passed away at the Wyandot Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday February 11, 2023 at 1:39pm.

She was born on December 4, 1930 in Upper Sandusky to the late Floyd A. and Rose V. (Carpenter) Martig. Her late stepmother Harriet (Honsberger Miller) was also a big part of her life.

Betty married Charles P. “Chuck” Romich on March 24, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2011. Surviving is a son Steven (Darla) Romich, a daughter Judy (Gary) Ault both of Upper Sandusky, 5 grandchildren Kevin (Jessica) Ault, Eric (Angela) Romich, Kristin (Justin) Gilkey, Craig (Breanna) Romich, Courtney (Curtis) Sebenoler, and 9 great grandchildren Benjamin Ault, Ava Romich, Abigail Ault, Jacob Romich, Adlee Sebenoler, Rylan Sebenoler, Riley Gilkey, Weslie Romich, Gavin Gilkey, brothers Allen (Carol) Martig and David (Jo) Miller, and sister Rose Marie (Paul) Amos. She was preceded in death by an infant son Gary Romich, a brother Richard Martig, and a sister Barbara Martig.

After the death of her mother, Betty helped to raise her younger siblings. She worked at the Dairy Barn where she met Chuck, the love of her life. Betty and Chuck were the owners of Romich Sales & Service and Colonial Laundry. They partnered in these businesses as they did with everything in life. She was a skilled homemaker who excelled at sewing and enjoyed cooking. In addition to holiday meals, Betty continued to cook for the business and family until just recently. She was a faithful friend who loved playing cards and traveling with her husband, friends, and especially family. Betty remained an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Women of the church. To know her was to know she had a beautiful soul. She will be remember as a dedicated, loving, and proud mother and grandmother.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 15, 2023 at 10:30am at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Barry Halter Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday February 14, 2023 from 4pm-7pm at Bringman Clark Funeral Home and Wednesday from 9:30am-10:30am at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
