Written by on December 29, 2022

The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office received a call at around 6:33 Wednesday evening from a concerned person regarding Robert Hamman.

Hamman, of Shiloh, Ohio was originally reported missing from his father’s residence (Terrence Hamman) where he had been staying.

Hamman’s father was found deceased at the residence on December 24 and his death is being investigated by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

Local Law Enforcement has been searching for Hamman ever since he abandoned his father’s vehicle on County Highway 10 in Wyandot County on December 24. Hamman was reported to have been picked up by a nearby resident and taken to a local restaurant in Nevada.

Hamman was observed at the same restaurant on December 28, and local law authorities were contacted.

Hamman was taken into custody without incident by Wyandot County Sheriff’s deputies.

He is currently incarcerated at the Wyandot County jail on a holder from the Ohio State Adult Parole Authority.

In connection to that, Wyandot County Sheriff Todd Frey issued the following release:

The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office is requesting help from residents that live within the area of County Highway 330 and State Highway 231. As we continue to investigate the area of where Mr. Hamman was located, we are asking that if anyone comes across anything that is suspicious or out of place to contact the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office before removing or disturbing anything.

Thank you for your assistance,
Sheriff Todd D. Frey
