Kenton Lions Conducted Meeting this Week

Lions Meeting February 1, 2023
The Kenton Lions club held its meeting on Wednesday February 1, 2023, at the Kenton Elks.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Lion President Bill Keller with 19 members and 2 guests present.
Guest speaker Garrett Ray from Bassmaster’s Jr presented information about his program. Mr. Ray shared that he started holding fishing tournaments for kids, about 5 or 7 years ago. There is not cost and the kids, who are accompanied by their parent(s). Mr. Ray also provide information to the kids so they can learn fishing skills. He stated the program is supported by donations and that he typically has 8 to 15 or more kids participate at the tournaments. He holds the tournament, weather permitting in May and June. First reading of new officers was conducted.
Lion Jason VanBuskirk was presented his 10 year membership pin by President Lion Bill Keller.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:10 pm. Followed by the singing of the Lions Roar.
50/50 drawing was won by Lion Gary Whitmer.
