Heart Health Awareness Month
Written by WKTN Staff on February 7, 2023
The month of February is Heart Health Awareness Month.
Cardiovascular disease, including stroke and high blood pressure, is the number one killer of men and women in the United States.
The good news is you can prevent heart disease by making some lifestyle choices.
It starts with knowing your family history since you have a greater risk if a parent or grandparent had heart disease.
You should drink in moderation and eat a heart-healthy diet.
You should also refrain from smoking, and that includes avoiding secondhand smoke as well.
