There are several ways to dispose of your unwanted medications throughout the year.
Melody Stockdale, the Overdose Prevention Coordinator at the Kenton-Hardin County Health Department, said one way is the Deterra Disposal Bag, “We have these available here at the Health Department as well as Deterra distributions throughout the county. You just open these, put your medication that you want to dispose of inside, add some water and shake it up for about 30 seconds and then you can just throw right into your trash can.”
You can use the the medication drop box locations at the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office in Kenton and at the Forest Police Department.
She reminded everyone that unused medications can be disposed of during Drug Take Back Day this Saturday with four locations operating in Hardin County…….One is at Hardin Memorial Hospital, one at Rite Aid Parking Lot in Ada, one at the Forest City Building, and yet another one at the Ridgemont School.”
All of those are drive thru operations operating from 9am until 11am this Saturday April 27.
