Hancock County Residents Targeted by Scam

Multiple Hancock County residents have received false calls claiming to be from the sheriff’s office.
A release on the office Facebook page reports the caller will appear on caller ID with the office’s number, but will give a different number for callback.
The office warns residents not to give any personal information to these callers, and to report such incidents by calling (419) 422-2424.
