Downtown Kenton Building and Business Owners Association Created

KENTON, OH – The Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance and the Kenton Historic Courthouse District (HCD) announce the creation of the Downtown Kenton Building and Business Owners Association (DBA).

The purpose of the DBA is to engage with building and business owners in the 9-block area surrounding the Hardin County Courthouse, known as the Kenton Historic Courthouse District to further the mission of the HCD, which is to stimulate downtown economic development through organization (encouraging cooperation and building leadership in the business community); promotion (creating a positive image for downtown by promoting the downtown as an exciting place to live, shop, and invest); design (improving the appearance of downtown by erecting or maintaining public buildings, monuments, or works and combating community deterioration); and to receive, administer, and distribute funds in connection with any activities related to the above purposes.

In order to accomplish this purpose, the DBA will consider projects that enhance the HCD and promote business.

The DBA will also be offering grants to individuals working on projects in the downtown area.

Any building owner, business owner or business employee in the HCD may become a member of the DBA by completing an application form and paying annual dues.

Representatives from the City of Kenton government, HCD staff and HCCBA board members will also be involved.

Annual dues for membership in the DBA will be set at $10 per person.

Dues may be offset by volunteering at HCD fundraising events.

Volunteering 2 hours at Eats on the Street will earn dues back.

Retained dues income will be used to fund the meetings and activities of the DBA.
