Barn Destroyed by Fire Late Tuesday Afternoon

A barn was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon south of Kenton.
According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched around 3:45 to 18003 Township Road 265.
The barn was totally destroyed, and the loss was listed at $100,000.
The property is owned by Perry Yoder.
A second barn started to catch on fire but was quickly extinguished. Siding on the house was also melted.
A juvenile playing with a heat source was listed as the cause.
Mutual assistance was provided by fire departments from Ridgeway, Mt. Victory, McGuffey and Belle Center.
Firefighters were on the scene for around 2 and half hours.
There were no injuries.
