Funeral services for Paul Roger Newland Sr. will be private. Burial will take place at Norman Cemetery. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
He died on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at his residence. He was born on March 10, 1926 in Kenton to the late John L. and Janette (Burden) Newland. On January 31, 1948 he married Norma Jean Scott and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are daughters; Cheri (Larry) Dye, Marcia (Ronald) Kinnear, Tammy (Clayton) Baldwin, sons; Paul (Chris) Newland Jr., Tommy Newland, a brother; Bill Newland, 3 sisters; Joan Vires, Beatty Richardson, Kay Horn, 21 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 3 daughters; an infant, Dorothy Horn, Penny Prater, a sister; Lucy Newland, 4 brothers; Lawrence Newland, Robert Newland, Don Newland, and John Newland.
Paul was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran serving during WWII.
He retired from Durez after a career of over 30 years. He went to church and served the Lord for many years. He loved his family and the Lord.
Paul will be remembered as a man of faith and being faithful to his commitments. He was always helping someone in need and never knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed.
