Kenton-Hardin Health Department Disputes Covid 19 Numbers at KNRC and on ODH Website.

The Kenton-Hardin Health Department is disputing information concerning COVID-19 numbers at Kenton Nursing and Rehab as reported on WKTN.
An employee of the health department came to the radio station, where she berated a staff member, in front of a teenage summer intern, accusing the station of reporting inaccurate information.
The employee did not practice the six foot social distance guideline and was not wearing a mask.
Her main issue concerned COVID-19 numbers at the facility as well as 3 reported deaths, stating again we are not reporting accurate information.
When told by station management the numbers are posted at the Ohio Department of Health website, http://coronavirus.ohio.gov, she stated those numbers are wrong.
Prior to leaving, the employee did apologize to staff and management, and is now aware the numbers were obtained from the Ohio Department of Health website.
Station management reached out to Director of Nursing Cindy Keller to inform her about the encounter with the employee.
Keller showed very little concern of the encounter with the employee, and was aware the employee was coming to the station to discuss as quoted “untruthful information” being reported on WKTN.
Keller was informed that WKTN was getting information from the ODH website, but she said “those numbers are not accurate.”
This despite the fact when calling the local health department, callers are referred to the Ohio Department of Health phone number and the corona-virus website for the latest information……..

The Kenton-Hardin Health Department updates COVID-19 numbers daily, but has not provided any information regarding numbers at long term care facilities.
Local Health Departments are responsible for providing county numbers to the Ohio Department of Health.
