Columbus Woman Escaped Injury in Crash Feb 27 on U.S. 68

A Columbus woman escaped injury in a crash that occurred this past Thursday on US 68 near Township Road 100 in Pleasant Township.

According to information released today by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Latisha Crabtree lost control of her vehicle on the ice while traveling north on 68.

The vehicle was heavily damaged after it went off the east side of the road and struck a utility pole causing power lines to fall across the road.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by American Electric Power, BKP Ambulance District, Kenton Fire Department and Osborn’s Towing.

A crew from American Electric Power responded to clear the lines and fix the pole.

68 was closed for around two and a half hours.

Crabtree was cited for failing to maintain reasonable control.
