City Officials Release Details About Massive Search Effort for Missing Boy

With assistance of nearly 600 volunteers, numerous searches have been conducted to find Quentin Ellcessor who went missing Thursday October 22.
According to a release from Public Information Officer Taylor Klinger, the searches have included surveys of vehicles, yards, dumpsters, and sewers.
An exhaustive search of the Scioto River from Kenton to La Rue has been conducted along the riverbank with multiple K-9 units, wading the river, and with watercraft.
To this point, all efforts have been unsuccessful on finding the boy.
Today, efforts will include ground and air resources searching greater portions of the Scioto River pushing East to South East.
The public’s assistance has been greatly appreciated.

On Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 1:34 PM 911 dispatch received a call regarding a missing 4-year-old boy, autistic, non-verbal from the 600 block of South Wayne St. in Kenton.
Immediately, Kenton Police Department and Hardin County Sheriff’s Office were brought to the residence of disappearance at 607 S. Wayne St. After a brief time, the search was expanded to the South East quadrant of the City as well as the Scioto River. Additional resources including hundreds of citizens were brought on to the search as well as assistance from the local, state and federal levels which arrived on the scene as early as night one. Agencies involved include Kenton Police Department, Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Kenton Fire Department, BKP, Kenton Fire Joint Dive Team, Hardin County Sheriff’s Special Response Team (SRT), Hardin County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, Hardin County Sheriff’s Office Digital Forensics, Bellefontaine Police Department, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Kenton City Works, Arial drones from Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Bellefontaine Police Department and private citizens were utilized. Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Unit, US Marshal, Customs and Border Patrol, Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), FBI, The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), Child Abduction Response Team (CART) from Powell, Shawnee Hills and Genoa, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Black Swamp K-9 Unit, Ohio Disaster Dogs, Indian Joint Dive Team, and Springfield Township Fire Department have been involved in the search.
As of October 25, 2020, 300 residences including apartment complexes and homes have been canvassed along with nearly 100 personal investigative interviews. Also, registered sex offender’s county wide were located and personally interviewed. Video footage from multiple businesses, residences and trail cameras have been viewed.
