Box Truck Travels Off Road, Damages New Leaf Property

A semi driver is facing charges following an accident that occurred around 10:30 Monday morning on State Route 235 north of Ada.

 

According to information from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, John Darnell, of Circleville, was driving north on 235 when his semi sideswiped a box truck that was slowing to  make a turn into New Leaf Garden Center.

 

The box truck, which was being driven by Pamela Clum, of Ada, ended up off the road where it struck the New Leaf sign and came to rest in a flower bed area at the business.

The semi spilled diesel fuel and the Hardin County EMA as well as the EPA were contacted/

 

Injuries to the drivers were described as minor and no one was transported.

 

The Ada Fire Department, Bluffton Squad and Minich’s Towing all assisted at the scene.

 

The crash remains under investigation.
