Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation of Kenton’s Walmart

A bomb threat forced an early closure at Kenton’s Walmart Thursday evening.

 

According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were called to the building at around 5:30.

 

All shoppers and employees were evacuated and the building was secured.

 

The Allen County Bomb Squad was dispatched, and bomb sniffing dogs conducted a sweep of the building but nothing was found.

 

Employees were allowed back in at around 8:30, but the store remained closed for the evening.

 

No information is being released at this time as to how the bomb threat was received.

 

The incident remains under investigation.
