Wharton Resident Joins “Saved By The Belt” Club

A Wharton resident recently joined Ohio’s “Saved by the Belt” Club this past Friday. According to a press release from The Bucyrus post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Olivia M. Hartman of Wharton was involved in an accident in Wyandot County on September 17th. The Accident occurred on County Road 88 and due to her use of a safety belt saved her from sustaining life-threatening injuries. Lt. Scott C. Rike, Bucyrus Post commander, presented Hartman with a “Saved by the Belt” certificate. Lt. Rike said “Olivia is a living testimony to the effectiveness of safety bells. Everyone needs to buckle up every trip, every time.”

The “Saved by the Belt” club is a joint effort by the Ohio Department of Public Safety and more than 400 Ohio Law Enforcement Agencies. The club is designed to recognize people who have benefited from their decision to wear safety belts.

Olivia also received a “Saved by the Belt” license plate bracket.
