Ohio Hunters Take Less Wild Turkeys During 2019 Season Compared to 2018

Ohio hunters checked 1,054 wild turkeys during the 2019 fall hunting season, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. 

 

The 2019 fall wild turkey hunting season was open in 70 counties from October 12-December 1. 

 

Ohio hunters took 1,131 wild turkeys during the 2018 fall season.

 

In our region, Hardin County hunters tool 7 wild turkeys in 2019, compared to only 2 last year.

 

10 were taken in Allen County, compared to 8 in 2018, 6 were checked in Hancock County, up by 2 last year, in Logan County, 7 were taken, down from last year’s 11 and 2 wild turkeys were taken in Wyandot County, which was two less than 2018.
