ODOT District 1 Holds Kickoff Event in Findlay

The Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 held a kickoff event in Findlay Wednesday to highlight the highway improvements coming in the 2023 construction season.

Work is now beginning on 79 projects in District 1’s eight counties, which include Hardin.

Projects in the works for Hardin County are:

STATE ROUTE 67 RESURFACING:

Resurface two miles of State Route 67 in the city of Kenton from Wayne Street to Morningside Drive.
Estimated Begin: May 2023
Estimated End: September 2023
Project Cost: $405,150
Traffic Impacts: Daily lane closures on State Route 67.

STATE ROUTE 31 RESURFACING:

Resurface four miles of State Route 31 from the Logan County line to the southern corporation limit of Mount Victory. Resurface 15 miles of State Route 31 from the northern corporation limit of Mount Victory to State Route 292.
Estimated Begin: June 2023
Estimated End: October 2023
Project Cost: $1 million
Traffic Impacts: Daily lane closures on State Route 31.

COUNTY ROAD 75 BRIDGE REPLACEMENT:

Replace the bridge on County Road 75 over Hog Creek, located a half-mile north of State Route 81.
Estimated Begin: June 2023
Estimated End: October 2023
Project Cost: $1.6 million
Traffic Impacts: Traffic will be detoured.

COUNTY ROAD 150 BRIDGE REHABILITATION:

Rehabilitate the County Road 150 bridge over the Scioto River, located approximately one and a half miles east of State Route 235.
Estimated Begin: July 2023
Estimated End: November 2023
Project Cost: $1.1 million
Traffic Impacts: Traffic will be detoured.

BRIDGE MAINTENANCE, DISTRICTWIDE:

Rehabilitate six bridges on various routes in District 1.
Estimated Begin: May 2023
Estimated End: November 2023
Project Cost: $901,097
Traffic Impacts: Daily lane restrictions will occur at some locations.
