A celebration of life for Tommy Joe Newland Sr will be held at a later date. It was his wish to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Tommy passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at his residence. He was born on July 25, 1957 in Kenton to the late Norma Jean (Scott) and Paul Roger Newland Sr.
Surviving are his children; Tommy Joe (Dalta) Newland Jr, Sheila (Michael) Chontos, Jessica Newland, Christine (Daniel) Conner, Luke Newland, siblings; Paul (Chris) Newland, Marcia (Ron) Kinnear, Cheri Dye, Tammy (Clayton) Baldwin, 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 3 sisters; an infant, Dorothy Horn, Penny Prater, and a brother-in-law; Larry Dye.
Tommy retired from Universal Co-Op in Kenton after over 30 years service. He was an auxiliary member of the Amvets Post 1994.
Tommy was a private person that kept to himself. He enjoyed being at home and listening to WKTN radio. He also enjoyed raising hunting dogs and going fishing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
