Funeral services for Patricia A. Watkins will be at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Jason Manns officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview McDonald Cemetery. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to the services at the funeral home.
Patricia passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 29, 1935 in Kenton to the late Albert and Anna (Rugh) Horner. She married Sanford Watkins on June 12, 1954 and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are 1 daughter; Vicki Miller of Kenton, 2 sons; Sanford Lee Watkins of Kenton, Wayne (Jody) Watkins of Kenton, 2 sisters; Lola McKinley of Kenton, Elizabeth (Rick) Shepherd of Washington, 3 brothers; Mike Horner of Marion, Danny Horner of Kenton, Tom (Vickie) Horner of North Carolina,7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bill Miller, daughter-in-law, Jody Camper-Watkins, 3 brothers; Albert, Donnie, Doug Horner and sister, Virginia Mabrey.
Patricia worked at International Paper for many years before retiring.
She enjoyed traveling the United States and spending the winter months in Florida with her husband. She loved to go shopping, eating ice cream and spending time with her dog Gidget. Patricia was a giving person who loved to spoil her grandchildren.
Memorial donations in Patricia’s honor may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice or to The Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activities Fund.
