Obituary for Joseph D. Sheaffer

Joseph D. Sheaffer age 54 of Harpster, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday January 24, 2023 in Wyandot Memorial Hospital. He was born October 19, 1968 in Marion, OH to Richard A. and Constance L. (Day) Sheaffer. He married Ellen J. (Bouton) Sheaffer on April 3, 1999.
Joe is survived by his wife: Ellen of Harpster, parents: Dick and Connie of Morral, sons: Benjamin Sheaffer of Harpster, Zachary Sheaffer of Harpster, sisters: Jennifer K. Smalley of Upper Sanduksy, Jill R. Sheaffer of Upper Sandusky.
Joe graduated from Upper Sandusky High School with the class of 1987. He received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Engineering from The Ohio State University where he was President of Alpha Zeta Fraternity. Joe was a life long Wyandot County farmer. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Church, BPOE 83, Wyandot County Farm Bureau, and Middle Bass Island Yacht Club. He enjoyed being around water, and loved boating and fishing. Joe had a passion for running and was an accomplished marathon runner. For his 50th birthday he traveled to Ireland to run in a marathon. Joe enjoyed spending time with family, especially while boating together.
A funeral service will be held Sunday January 29, 2023 at 5pm in Trinity Evangelical Church in Upper Sandusky with Pastor Jim Stauffer officiating. Visitation will be from 2pm-5pm on Sunday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph D. Sheaffer Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E.
