of North Canton 

A funeral service for Joseph Charles Dietz will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Deacon Nick Klear officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kenton. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the funeral home.

Joe passed away unexpectedly on  Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Aultman Hospital E.R. in Canton, Ohio. He was born on December 4, 1952 in Lima to the late Charles and Erma (Holthaus) Dietz. On October 19, 1974 he married Judy Litzenberg and she survives in North Canton.

Also surviving are a daughter; Katrina Marie (Steven) Eschweiler of Fresno, CA, 2 sons; Charles Joseph (Angel) Dietz of North Canton, Trevor Dietz of North Canton, siblings; Connie (Don Poe) Dietz of Kenton, Charles (Jackie) Dietz of St. Paul Mn., Jeff (Irene) Dietz of Shaker Heights, Oh., Jane (Peter) Bryant-Klett Of Grays Lake, Ill., 2 grandchildren; Zatanna Dietz, Dominica Treherne, a great grandchild; Rory Treherne and several nieces and nephews. 

Joe was a 1971 graduate of Kenton High School. He went on to get his Doctorate Degree in Grain Science and Nutrition from Kansas State University. He was a 4th degree member of The Knights of Columbus. He was also actively involved in Boy Scouts his entire life. 

In his free time, Joe enjoyed camping and was an avid football fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. 

Memorial donations in Joe’s honor may be made to the American Heart Association.
