Obituary for Connie J. Stuckey

Connie J. Stuckey, 81, of rural Arlington passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at her residence. Connie was born April 6, 1941 in Delaware Township, Hancock County, Ohio to the late Carl W. and Cleo L. (Hammond) Smith. On September 2, 1960 Connie married Gene A. Stuckey; he preceded her in death on April 17, 2014.

Connie is survived by her son, Greg (Missy) Stuckey; granddaughter Kimberly (Curt Scalf) Henley, great-granddaughters: Emma Henley, Danika (Cory) St. Myers, and Jesika Henley; great-great grandson Emmett St. Myers; sister Colene Gatchell; sisters-in-laws: LuAnn Stuckey and Sharon MacKenzie; nieces: Deb Gatchell and Cathy Nighswander; and nephew Nick Stuckey.

Connie was the valedictorian of her 1959 class of Mt. Blanchard High School. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. After 33 years of service, she retired from Marathon Oil Company in 1996. She worked in the office at the Hancock County Fairgrounds until 2005. Those who knew her will vouch for her attentiveness to detail and love of reading. Connie was a constant source of support to family and friends – a woman of quiet faith and determination throughout her life. She loved spending time with her family- especially her great-granddaughter Emma.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday April 18, 2022 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Crates Funeral Home, 620 N. Main Street Arlington. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday April 19, 2022 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with The Reverend Elizabeth Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Mt. Blanchard.

Memorial contributions may be made in Connie’s honor to Hancock County Public Library, the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, and/or the Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church.
