of Kenton

A funeral service for Leo DeWayne Ferrell will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 18, 2022 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow at Norman Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the funeral home.

Leo passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. He was born on December 27, 1948 in Kenton to the late Leon and Vida Odell (Webb) Ferrell. On December 26, 1991 he married Tamara “Tammy” Prater and she survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are a son; Scott Manns of Knoxville, TN, a daughter; Tina Marie Ferrell of Findlay, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by a son; Joshua L. Ferrell, a brother; Father Victor Wesolwski, and infant twins.

Leo was a 1967 graduate of Kenton High School. Immediately following high school, Leo joined the United States Marine Corps,  serving from 1967 to 1969 in Vietnam.

Leo enjoyed being outdoors and being on the water. He loved to bass fish, catfish and sit on Indian Lake ice fishing when he was able. He loved spending time with his family and friends and especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. He also enjoyed sitting and watching Fox News so he could complain. He will truly be missed by his loving dog, Annie, who was always by his side.  

Memorial donations in Leo’s honor may be made to the Amvets Post 1994 in Kenton.
