Fire Heavily Damages Home in Ada

A family lost their home to a fire in Ada Sunday evening.
According to Ada Fire Chief Jay Eply, firefighters were dispatched at around 5 Sunday evening to Christopher Circle.
A portion of the house was involved in flames when firefighters arrived.
The Chief said their early investigation revealed that a grill that had just been used was too close to the house, which caused the fire.
Fire departments from Lafayette, Alger, Dunkirk and South West Hancock Joint Fire District provided mutual assistance.
Firefighters were on the scene for roughly six hours.
Heavy damage occurred to the garage and a room above the garage.
There was heavy smoke and water damage in the rest of the house.
There were no injuries.
