City Council and Community Tour Kenton Fire Department

Kenton City Council met Monday March 9th in regular session.

Preceding the meeting was a tour of the Kenton Fire Department, followed by a Public Hearing for Natural Gas Aggregation.

After Meeting began Session, Kenton Jack ‘N Dos Owner Devon Valentine had requested time to speak in order to be granted city blessing for trex in order to gain ground on obtaining a D-1 Beer Permit outside of the city for Jack ‘N Dos. Council voted to pass Valentine’s Request, deeming the business was economically beneficial.

In Old Business, an ordinance providing for additional appropriations for transferring funds for 2020 for the city had been on it’s third reading, and council voted to pass this ordinance.

In New Business, an ordinance providing for additional appropriations for transferring funds for 2020, including those for mowing city parks, Electric Contracts for the Quarry campgrounds, and for pool repairs, was elected to suspend the three-reading rule, and council voted to pass.

For additional comments, Kenton Fire Chief Tim Clark expressed his appreciation toward all who came to see the station, while members of council reciprocated their appreciate toward all local first responders.

Kenton City Council’s next meeting will be Monday March 23rd, 2020 at 7pm
