Blood Donors Encouraged to Give During Holiday Season
Written by WKTN Staff on December 2, 2019
More than 1 million units of blood could be transfused in the United States between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Individuals are urged to give a lifesaving gift this holiday season by making an appointment to donate blood or platelets and help the American Red Cross ensure a sufficient supply is on hand for patients throughout the holiday season.
Those with type O blood are especially needed.
There are two blood drives scheduled this month in Hardin County.
The first is on December 18 from 2-7pm at the McVitty Memorial VFW Post in Forest.
Another bloodmobile will be held December 23 from noon until 6 at First Baptist Church in Kenton.
Make an appointment now by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
You can also enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.
