Written by on February 25, 2019

Property damage was reported in Wyandot County, where a tree fell and damaged a barn on property located in the 3000 block of Township Highway 107.

A tree fell on a house and also struck two vehicles parked in the driveway at 308 South Garrett Street in Nevada. The tree also brought down a power line as well.

That occurred around 7:30 Sunday evening.

For Nevada residents: Due to the ongoing power outage, the Fire station has been opened as a warming station. Please pass the information along and check on family members and elderly. We do not know an approximate time when AEP will have power fully restored to their customers. We do know that they are doing their best and their employees have been working hard in the high winds and cold. Please check their website or Facebook page for updates. Linemen, we appreciate you.

A utility pole was brought down on State Highway 231 at County Highway 182 Sunday night.

A driver didn’t see the power lines across the road, and the lines became draped across the truck.

The occupants were advised to remain in the vehicle while a crew from American Electric Power arrived and removed the power lines, and the vehicle was driven away.

Barricades were then put in place, and the road was closed until the lines were cleared.
