Wildcats Knock Off Cougars 48-25

The Kenton Wildcats defeated the Van Wert Cougars 48-25 Friday night in Western Buckeye League football action at Eggerss Stadium.

Kenton (5-2 overall, 5-1 WBL) built a 34-7 halftime lead but the Cougars (3-4, 2-4) clawed to within 34-19 before the Cats iced the game in the fourth quarter.

Blaine Huston threw for 391 yards and 6 touchdowns. Jayden Cornell caught 4 of the touchdown passes and finished with 6 catches for 135 yards. Landon Rush also caught 6 balls for 153 yards and a score, with Bryce Ellis accounting for the other TD reception.

Jacob Eversole rushed for a TD and picked off a pass, with Cornell and Landen West each intercepting passes as well.

Cornell and Eversole were named the Ace Hardware Players of the Game.
