Wildcats Clinch Winning WBL Season

The Kenton Wildcats clinched their first winning season in Western Buckeye League play in 12 years by topping Van Wert 55-50 Friday.

The Wildcats are now 11-7 overall and 5-1 in the WBL, guaranteeing Kenton its first winning campaign in league play since the 2007-08 season.

Jacob Eversole led Kenton with 18 points and seven rebounds while Jayden Cornell added 15 points. Trey Jefferies and Reed Cook scored seven points each for the Wildcats.

Van Wert (3-12 overall, 1-5 WBL) got 18 points each from Owen Treece and Keaton Brown.

Eversole and Cook were named the Ace Hardware Players of the Game.
