Two Separate Union County Crashes Involve Drivers Falling Asleep

One person was injured in a crash that occurred early Tuesday morning on US 42 in Union County.

 

According to the report from the Union County Sheriff’s Office, 19 year old Robert Rosado fell asleep while driving south on 42.

 

The vehicle crossed the center line and went into the ditch off the east side of the road where it struck a utility pole.

 

Rosado, was transported to Dublin Medical Center for treatment of suspected minor injuries.

 

Disabling damage occurred to the vehicle.

 

Rosado was cited for failing to maintain reasonable control.

A driver, who also fell asleep, escaped injury after his vehicle ended up in a creek in Union County Tuesday morning.

 

According to the report from the Union County Sheriff’s Office, 52 year old Krieg Thornburg, of Springfield, fell asleep while traveling southeast on Allen Center Road.

 

The vehicle went off the right side of the road where it struck a tree and came to rest in Buck Run Creek.

 

Disabling damage occurred to the vehicle, and it was towed from the scene.
