Two Killed in New Year’s Day Fire in Allen County

A New Year’s morning fire in Allen County claimed the life of two people.
Hometown Stations reported that the Perry Township Fire Department was dispatched to 4601 McPheron Road at just after 6 Thursday morning.
The names of the two people killed have not yet been released.
A media release from the fire department stated that crews encountered heavy fire and smoke conditions upon arrival.
There were 2 firefighters injured, and they were taken to Lima Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
