An Akron woman was arrested on a warrant following a traffic stop on U.S. 23 in Wyandot County.

According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s office, a deputy clocked a southbound vehicle travelling 97 miles an hour in the 65 miles an hour zone.

The driver provided false information about her identification, but she was determined to be Sheri Kearns, who had a warrant for her arrest out of Stark County.

Kearns said she was speeding because her passenger, identified as Michael Grose, also of Akron, was complaining of chest pains.

A squad was dispatched and dispatched him to Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

Kearns was arrested and transported to the Wyandot County Jail where she was charged with falsification and issued a citation for speeding.
